Sable is a grade 18 year old 16hh black Percheron mare. Thick, old-fashioned, pulling style. 16 hands and 1800lbs. Very broke to drive. Previous owner would lend her to Amish neighbors, has been in just about every kind of hitch, in every position. Mostly used around the farm but happy to hook up and take you for a nice drive down the road or trail. We’ve used her for logging and brush clearly, leading trail drives, giving driving lessons/clinics, breaking colts to drive, parades, and giving wagon rides. If you can hold the lines, you can drive her. More whoa than go, will go the pace she’s asked and will match bigger horses, but is not a snappy road horse. Perfectly happy to meander at a slow walk.

Gets along fine with mares and geldings. Picks up all four feet, easy to catch, hauls great, ties overnight. Long tail, UTD on shots and Coggins. Teeth done in July, new shoes all around. Asking $5000 obo.

Rides well but not fancy broke. Used for trail rides, you can throw anyone on her. Crosses whatever she’s pointed at, happy to lead or follow. Rides alone or in a group. Lets the kids climb all over her.
