LET LIBERTY SHINE ON (MARVELOUS CITY LIGHTS x MARVELOUS STAR DANCER), 2021 royally bred bay splash filly. Y'all, I HUNTED for this gal but as much as I want to breed her, 'River' has been telling me she'd rather be "someone's horse" than "a horse in a program." Later baby with a September birthday, River hasn't been pushed much but she leads, loads, ties, picks up feet, has been ponied, etc. Still growing, so I wouldn't count on her as a riding horse until late ‘24/’25 (not telling anyone how to train, heck, I may be totally wrong, just don't want to let anyone down expecting a 3 yo ready to go January 1st).

Curious and friendly, but pretty sensitive to handler's mood - super confident and relaxed when I work with her, not so much when some of my chore people try to bring her in. Thriving with 2 old geldings who will share grain and play with her, but who aren't afraid to put her in her place - got a little cheaky when only out with other young horses she could push around. Great for my farrier, who takes his time with her. River isn't doing anything wrong or even atypical of a young Morgan, but my time for the foreseeable future just has to be with getting horses under saddle, not with the babies. Was a bit food aggressive when she first arrived, but has settled into a routine nicely. Can be head-shy around ears but continues to improve the more we work with her! Easy to catch and pretty good about keeping a fly mask on. Pasture buddies have taught her to come to the fence and say “Hi!” to people, even starting to warm up to strangers.

I spent SO much time hunting these Marvelous bloodlines, then had this DOUBLE-BRED Marvelous filly shipped all the way from Washington to Iowa. Bred by Marvelous guru Sue Beach, this pedigree is STACKED.

To top it off, River is N/SW1; N/N for splash and has a dorsal stripe. Right eye has just a bit of blue by her tear duct - very tough to photograph! Definitely still growing and filling out, a bit butt high at the moment. Nice clean, straight legs, good feet. Has received regular farrier care to keep everything where it’s supposed to be!

River is gorgeous, smart, and CLASSY - it kills me to let her go. But y'all better knock some sense into me the day I put my wants and goals ahead of the well-being of any horse. I'd love to work out a breeding with a future owner, but getting the right fit for this little lady is priority. UTD on shots, Coggins, feet.
