(Sold) DaVinci - $8,500

DaVinci is an 11 yo tri-color Gypsy Cob gelding who stands about 13.2hh. Broke to ride and drive. Brave forward mover without a lot of spook. Will happily walk along a on loose rein, but is not a plodder. Solid trail horse, rides out alone or in a group. Will WTC and take both leads, but is not finished in the arena. Sporty, cute mover. Had first time riders on him, but not selling as a 100% beginner broke horse - no meanness in him, but he will test a rider (“Are you sure we can’t stop and eat?? I can catch up!”). Suitable for a confident teen/adult or an intermediate rider.

DaVinci is one badass trail pony! Has covered some rough country, sure-footed and level-headed. Tough, will go all day. Will make a trail if there isn’t one, will slide down a steep hill on hit butt when needed. Happy to lead, follow, or go out on his own. Doesn’t kick when crowded, great for ponying colts. Not 100% on neck reining and moving off seat/legs, but getting there. Would make a great little ranch pony, no quit in him but not even a little hot-headed. Can sit without getting fresh, hop on him and ride. Hobbles, happy to let you get on and off as much as you’d like for checking fences or clearing trails. Covers more ground than most big horses, has an awesome high trot that’ll get you to your destination in no time.

Fancy enough to polish up for the show ring, nice mover. Hasn’t done much work on collection, but happy enough to pop over a few jumps, go over obstacles, or push cattle through the chutes. Very willing attitude, not much he won’t do if asked. Smart, doesn’t take much to teach him something new.

UTD on teeth, shots, Coggins, etc. Doesn’t have the thickest soles, can go barefoot but recommend at least front shoes if riding on hard ground. Currently wearing shoes on all 4 with front pads for driving on sharp road gravel (no wedge). Easy keeper, gets along well with everyone.

DaVinci has nice clean legs and lovely conformation. Good ground manners, bathes, ties, loads, backs out of the trailer, hauls well, hobbles, is good with his feet. Fine with cattle, ATVs, kids, farm equipment, other spooking horses, etc. Traffic safe for riding or driving down the road. Gets along with everybody in the pasture.

Drives very well but not completely finished. While he won’t try to get into a wreck, might still let a new driver crash him into something. Still learning verbal cues but has a great “Whoa.” Will very happily pull over and let the neighbors run up and say hi.

DaVinci has hunted 1st/2nd flight but is still green to jumps. No dirty ducking or stopping, simply green so not quite a 100% packer/babysitter yet. Rides quiet in a simple snaffle anywhere in the field - front, middle, back, doesn't matter. Good with the dogs, being crowded, and is an excellent quiet, no-fuss buddy for the one jiggy, prancing horse who's doing his best impression of a kite. Only downside is that you're VERY likely to be the one getting on/off a million times to pick up dropped whips, get gates, and help others back on. Likes to splash in water and ruin all your hard work to get him clean. If you value your sanity, just pay someone to braid him. He'll stand but your fingers will take years of therapy to recover from all his hair.
