ADURO SOLEMN VOW (FLYHAWK DUDE X DOVES FAITH) - "Promise" has redefined what 'born broke' really means! Like his dam, this colt is as polite, friendly, and teachable as you could possibly hope for. Out of the last mare from Jeanette Dove's program, we are thrilled to carry on her legacy from the horse she hand-picked as her final 'Old Lady' mount. Halter broke and a farm favorite. Dam is rich in old blood, going back to DOMINO JOE, OMAR SHERIFF through MARY MELS, and the rarely seen Western Working H- horses. By our sporty 100% foundation stallion. Dam is 15hh, sire is 14.2hh. Estimating he will finish out around 14.3-15hhh and 1000lbs.

Doves Faith (dam) was selected by her breeder to keep as the last personal horse for an “old lady.” Upon her illness, Jeanette Dove called her good friend Shery Jespersen, to take custody of Faith. Shery was thrilled, as Faith has “the manners of a British maid” and became Shery’s perfect “old lady horse.” A pasture accident left Faith unsound for riding, but Shery kept Faith, keeping her promise to her late friend to care for the mare through the end. We were honored to be entrusted with such a valuable gift and last of a notable Midwest breeding program, and are thrilled that Jeanette’s contribution to the Morgan breed has continued on in this foal. Promise is every bit the gentle, soft, kind-hearted horse Jeanette was known for producing. Easily the barn favorite, Promise has the disposition to be another treasured “old lady horse”, school master, kid-packer, and treasured partner.

We could not be more thrilled with this cross, out of two quite aged horses! Both sire and dam have about the most gentle dispositions you could find in a horse, and we hope to see this cross bear fruit again. However, we will not force the issue and will let nature take its course. We’d be thrilled to get another foal as quiet and affectionate as Promise, but if we only get the one colt, well, we couldn’t ask for much better than him!

Promise is correct and typy, with plenty of substance. Up to date on shots, Coggins, feet, etc. Gelded with wolf teeth removed, microchipped per AMHA rule change, and freeze branded. Price negotiable for a good fit! Located in Mingo, Iowa.
