Festus is a 2018 grullo Morgan gelding. Ranch raised and bred in the purple, this correct, flashy gelding is the whole package! Festus can be watchy and takes awhile to warm up, but is getting braver the more he’s worked with. Has stamina for days and the kind of athleticism you can only dream of. This is not a horse you can run into the ground or beat into submission - he’s too smart and too hardy for that. However, approach him with a gentle hand and there’s not much this gelding won’t give his heart into trying to do for you! Like many Morgans, Festus retains everything on the first try so warrants the time to do things right.

Festus has a great deal of potential but will require a special home to realize it. Green broke to ride. Has been used extensively as a pack horse all over the west and never put a foot wrong or wore out. Was brought along slowly on and off, but needs some personalized one-on-one attention to finish him out. Has trust issues and won’t be cowboyed - knows all of the tricks and can move/think faster than you! Will make you work for it to do things the right way, but will pay you back tenfold.

Festus moves like a dream, with show-ring quality suspension and a trot that can go past 15 mph! Balanced, rhythmic, Festus would excel in any discipline with his short-coupled, handy conformation and gritty, no-quit attitude. Easy keeper, gets along with mares and geldings. Towards the bottom of the pecking order. Brave about anything but humans, if you send this horse somewhere you better be holding on, cause there’s not much he won’t go over/under/through if asked.

BIG hard feet, plenty of bone, and color to boot! Used to cattle, ATVs, dogs, and farm equipment. Tough horse you can’t overuse, but not heavy footed or slow.
