(Sold) Sage - $2,000
Sage is a draft cross filly sired by a Haflinger stallion and out of a Morgan mare. Born August 2022, we bought her dam with a full brother at her side. Sage is nosy, friendly, and sharp as a whip. Halter broke, easy to handle, brave, extremely trainable. Lets you brush all over her and picks up feet. Loads in and out of a trailer, follows horses that aren’t her mom down the trail whenever we go.
Much like her brother, Rooster, Sage embraces the cheeky curiosity of both the Morgan and Haflinger breeds. Playful, in-your-pocket type. Loves people, doesn’t mind the dogs, tarps, tractor, or other big scary things around the farm.
Ties, leads, and started on lunging. Has a lovely floating trot, would make a nice sporthorse prospect. Good luck NOT catching her in the pasture, she all but halters herself. First one to the gate and always wants to help with whatever chore or project you’re working on. Easy keeper, good feet, straight legs, has always looked correct and proportional through all growing stages. Still working on standing still for the farrier, but has been trimmed without too much fuss. Gets bored and wants to go explore the back of his van more than stand around.
Currently stands 12.3hh, expect her to mature around 14.1hh. Sage is already pretty thick and solid for her age, guessing she’ll finish out at a stout 1000-1200lbs. More blonde than her brother was at this age, but still a pretty red-based chestnut color with a flaxen mane and tail. Sage can be registered with the American Draft Cross Registry or the American Warmblood Society & Sporthorse Registry.
