Ember is a 14.3 hh grade sorrel mare, teeth and Coggins agree that she’s about 15 years old. Can be pushy, but overall easy to handle on the ground, ties, leads, loads, backs out of trailer, stands for vet/farrier. Ember spent most of the summer being used for a kids camp, giving trail rides to to novice riders. Crosses whatever is in front of her, happy to lead or follow.

Ember can be buddy sour, she will paw and whinny to her friends if she’s tied alone. Excellent for farrier, she’ll keep her foot on the stand all day. Was an model patient while recovering from strangles, despite the discomfort it caused, she stayed easy to handle and complacent the whole time. Acts as surrogate momma to a yearling we have, guessing she’s had a foal or two before. Gets along fine with mares and geldings.

Doesn’t like taking the bit, hoping her recent dental will help improve her behavior. A bit hard-headed but fairly unflappable. Beer drinking/husband broke, fine going out alone for any beginner who can ride more aggressively or a timid rider in a group (she’s just going to go wherever her buddies go). Fine with dogs, traffic, farm machinery, plastic bags, kids, GREAT for bathing, clipping, loading, saddling, etc.

Has some old scarring on back legs, appears as though she got tangled up in something early in life. Doesn’t bother her, purely cosmetic. UTD on shots, Coggins, and teeth (all done May 2022). Kept on regular trimming cycle since we’ve had her, barefoot with no issues. In good health and slick fat (easy keeper) though we’re working on getting her in better shape from the time she’s had off.

Ember is currently priced at $3,500 obo, which will increase as we work on getting her back into shape.
