(Sold) Bounce N Three Bars (Sis) - $9,000
15hh 2014 AQHA registered buckskin mare. Came off a working ranch in Texas as a 4 year old to work in a feedlot and push cattle at the sale barn. Was bought in 2021 and shipped up to Iowa by an older couple. They enjoyed trail riding Sis but decided they wanted a horse who was a bit lazier and more accustomed to “stopping and smelling the flowers”. Sis is no stranger to a days work and it shows, a using horse with a lotta try. Nice stop, soft in the side, she’ll swing or side pass into just about any spot. Babysitter type on the trail, verified grandparent safe but she does have a good handle so would recommend at least a quiet rider if you’re throwing beginners on her.
This mare is broke as a joke, ranched on plenty. I wouldn’t call her finished for the show pen yet but she has 3 good gaits, knows her leads. Backs (will back through an L), side passes (both directions over an L), opens gates, and has a helluva spin. Very sure-footed, has crossed everything we’ve put in front of her without an issue. Careful on the trail and mindful of her feet. Leads, follows, rides in the middle, will carry packs or pony another horse. No kick, bite, buck, or bolt. Respectful and friendly, not what I’d call in-your-pocket but likes people and attention. Not mareish in the least. Very eager to please, has the buttons to go with, so she’ll need a rider who isn’t going to thump around on her sides or face.
Really nice mare here who could truly go any direction. UTD on shots, Coggins, teeth, etc. Nice hard buckskin feet, we keep her barefoot with no issues. Would be easy to finish in the arena as a ranch riding or sorting horse, but she’s leggy and athletic enough to make a good hunter prospect as well.
Sis is currently up for auction on The Horse Bay. Bids can be placed here. Located in Bondurant, IA.
This mare is gentle gentle, one who’s truly kindhearted and doesn’t need to be cowboyed around. Been focusing on conditioning and polishing her up for the ranch and trail classes, According to previous owner, Sis was used extensively in a feedlot and lightly as a heel horse, at roping practice she didn’t mind the cattle or ropes but didn’t really understand the point of chasing the dummy. Several of her siblings are money earners both as barrel racers and rope horses. The speed is there but she’s happy to go the pace she’s asked.
On the top, WHATAS GIT R DUN has sired numerous barrel racing money earners and goes back to NEW FEATURE, earner of 74 halter points and producer of point earners in halter, hunter hack, and working horse classes; TWO EYED JACK, all time leading sire of AQHA Champions. Sire of sixteen AQHA World Show Champions, Performance Register of Merit earners, and AQHA Supreme Champions.
On the bottom side, Sis goes back to CAMP TOWN BOY, SI 95, 3 race wins, sire of 3 RGP money earners, 84 Race ROM, 11 stakes winners; out of MISS LOUTON, a stakes winner and Race ROM by the AQHA Hall Of Fame Leading Sire THREE BARS (thoroughbred), called "The Greatest Speed Sire of all Time”.
Sis’ siblings are out earning money barrel racing and roping. Videos and articles of some of her relatives can be found below.
