Westwind Quinten - $5,000
WESTWIND QUINTEN (SWEETS BAYBARRY x WESTWIND LOIS) is a 2018 bay Foundation Morgan gelding standing 16hh! Leads, loads, ties, stands for vet/farrier. Green broke to ride with a lot of try. Owner has come to the hard decision that Quinten isn't the right fit for her based on personal health and time constraints.
Was started under saddle as a 3/4 year old, then kicked back out. Owner purchased from breeder in 2021 and sent Quinten to training, where he showed reluctance to canter. Owner had in-depth vetting done at the Iowa State Large Animal Clinic to discover an old meniscus tear in 2022. Quinten went thorough rehabilitation, then extensive imaging and evaluation by ISU before being fully release back to work in 2023. All records are available. During this time, Owner bonded even more strongly with Quinten, and instilled impeccable ground manners.
Owner invested a significant amount into additional training for this guy to become her next endurance mount. Extensive groundwork was done, then about 90 rides. Unfortunately, Quinten still spooked out from under his Owner in 2024, leading to her to the heartbreaking realization that bringing along a green horse was not in either of their best interests.
Has been very well-cared for by Owner, regularly handled, good feet, easy keeper, UTD on all cares. Owner is extremely attached and would like to stay in contact with next person, this was supposed to be her forever partner. Motivated seller to a good home, open to offers. Located in Mingo, IA.

Quinten has a lot of try and has come a long way in the little time we’ve had him. I don’t lunge him prior to riding, and I’ve never had him get hot or spooky. Trail rides like a dream, very careful on slick, muddy, steep hills, and did wonderfully crossing water, bridges, and deadfall. Was more happy to follow than lead, but that confidence will continue coming with time.
Quinten has been brought back into work slowly this summer, mostly walking and starting to trot under saddle. Quinten will still cross-fire at the canter in the round pen, but has improved the more he’s worked with.
