(Sold) Mick - $2,000

Ground drives well, seems to know what he's doing. Rides okay, stops, goes, steers, not fancy broke but gets the job done. Will go out alone but gets buddy sour and does better in a group. Still some fear of people so doesn't love loud/sudden movements and is a bit head shy. Mick isn't going to knock you off your feet with his cleverness and has exactly one good angle.

Mick is a 15hh grade bay gelding. Came out of a loose pen in Feb 2021 so we have limited history. My folks have a thing about Morgans so when Mick was listed as one they couldn't leave him. Told he was broke to ride and drive.

Now, Mick has been on several trail rides and is a pretty solid citizen. He'll lead or follow, doesn't mind traffic, bridges, water, dams, deadfall, etc. Doesn't have a "hard spook". Trailers, ties, has been overnight camping. Lower in the pecking order. Never done anything to indicate he'll bite or kick unless you dedicate yourself to making him do so. Has gotten fussy when first asked to leave friends if ridden alone but works out of it.

Came with an abscess in his back left hoof and a crack in his front right. Pretty good feet otherwise. Fairly confident we've had him long enough that there won't be any more surprises from his previous life. Clean, straight legs, sound since his abscess blew. Coggins DOB is 2008 but in my unprofessional opinion he's over 15. Pictures of teeth included and there's plenty of internet experts who'd be happy to give you their two cents. I can safely assure you he's not 5 and he's not 35. UTD on shots, Coggins, teeth, etc.

Spent the summer (when sound) being used for trail rides at my parents' camp. Due to anxiety with strangers, we think he'd be happier being one person's/family's horse. Would make an awesome beer drinking/husband horse. Did fine with time off. May end up being a phenomenal kid's horse but unless your kid is the reigning quite game champion or past the bundle-of-energy phase, you'll want to look elsewhere. Not gonna be your next barrel horse or world champion.

I don't have a burning desire to pour time into Mick like he's ever going to be more than a trusty trail horse. If I can't find the right fit for him we'll just toss him in with the geriatric herd. Still has plenty of using years so I'd hate to retire him. Low foursies or so, be reasonable and he's yours. Located near Des Moines, Iowa
