(Sold) Concho - $6,500
Eager to please, affectionate, just timid around new people and takes a minute to settle. Super passive, bottom of pecking order. No buck, bite, or rear. Fancy broke, used for roping, ranching, branding/tagging calves, has a good handle. Helped break other horses/mules, the good example if we've got a young one. Knows his way around cattle, crosses whatever he’s pointed at. Superb trail horse, not phased by much. Dogs, traffic, farm equipment, demon ponies, mini donkeys, llamas, geese, tarps, small children, bikes, ATVs, goats, trash cans, gun shots, other spooking horses, I have yet to find something that really gets to this guy other than people. Takes both leads, turns well on the fore/hind, half-passes, backs.
Concho is a 2010 black 15.3hh ranch broke gelding who fell prey to being a too-broke-horse in novice hands. No dangerous behaviors but needs a quite rider to help him learn people are his friends again. I didn't realize this gelding could gait when I bought him, he would much rather trot. If interested, someone more familiar with gaited horses would do a better job cleaning it up. I’m 75% sure he’s foxtrotting but he could be waltzing for all I know. Easy to have around, not in a hurry to move him. Quick project if you can clean up his gait or a finished ranch horse with extensive experience on the trail.
Goes out alone better than any horse I’ve ever met. Great to haul, stands for the things he supposed to, good ground manners, lotta try. Has been hauled all over for trail rides, CO, NE, SD, WI, MO, etc. Used for hunting and packing. You’d be hard pressed to find anything that’ll out work this guy.
THICK mane and tail, UTD on all care, teeth/shots/Coggins done this fall, barefoot. Would make a phenomenal trail, endurance, ranch, or casual pleasure mount. Same horse every time.
